Officials with stadium canceled back to back shows including the "Whenever, Wherever" singer's May 29 concert as well as a May 30 performance by country music starJason Aldean and duo Brooks & Dunn. We apologize for the inconvenience," Fenway Park wrote in a statement shared on social media. While no explanation was provided on social media, the cancelations were due to issues discovered during routine checks before the Shakira show, Live Nation confirmed in a statement to USA TODAY. "Structural elements were identified as not being up to standard, so the shows were canceled. All team members are safe," the statement reads.
