While Thompson is hopeful for his own future, he told the outlet he has yet to sign a contract for a 23rd season, admitting that you can "never know what the future holds." "I don't want to be in the way of someone else or I don't want to be the stale old man riding the same thing," he admitted. "That doesn't really happen that much atSNLbut there's no guarantees, I guess."
